As arranged, Muriel Pearce planned to hold a coffee morning in her son, John's garden. However, during a very dry spell that particular Saturday - IT RAINED!
However, by re-arranging the furniture, and borrowing Val and John's dining room, we retreated indoors. Nobody was put off and we all crowded into Muriel's flat. It was a bit of a crush and if we weren't friends before we certainly were by the end of the morning.
A lovely, friendly time was had by all. Plenty of food, drinks and chatter. All this enhanced by the contributions to our charities of about £150.
